2016 Central Virginia District Competition

As always, Team 116 had a blast competing and meeting other FRC teams at our last competition. Held in Central Virginia, Epsilon Delta took Doswell by storm and wasted no time in the pits, working on our robot as well as helping other teams.

Thanks to the expertise from past competitions, we were able to provide multiple teams with various aspects of their robot. Our efforts must have been recognized by a judge as we were granted the Gracious Professionalism Award. Team 116 is especially appreciative of this award because it celebrates the fact that kindness, no matter how small, is never underrated.

In addition to our Gracious Professionalism Award, Team 116 is proud to say that we were picked by Teams 539 Trinity Robotics and Team 2028 The Phantom Mentalists during the Alliance Selections. We had the pleasure of working with these two spectacular teams and advance to the quarterfinals.

Team 116 Epsilon Delta is looking forward to competing with all of these wonderful teams at the  Chesapeake District Championship in College Park, Maryland. We’ll see you there!

2016 Northern Virginia Chesapeake District Competition: SUCCESS!

Team 116 is proud to announce that we have been awarded the 2016 Northern Virginia Chesapeake District Competition Chairman’s Award!

The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST. It honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST. It also entails a complete advancement to the District Championship, another reason as to why we are so gracious and appreciative of the verdict.

We would like to extend a thank-you to all of the fantastic teams that competed at our event this past weekend. There were so many incredible teams that presented and it was truly a pleasure meeting all of you. Thanks for making another great competition, and we hope to see you again soon!

Team 116 would also like to thank our sponsors: NASA, PTR Group, PODS,  Mach V Motorsports, Herndon High School, and everyone who have helped guide us on our journey. We would not be where we are today without your generous support.

Next destination: Doswell. We’ll see you there!

And We’re Off!

Team 116 burst out of the starting gate and wasted no time in joining the rest of our fellow FRC teams at the Northern Virginia CHS District Championship today as we set up shop.

After almost seven weeks of planning, designing, and fabrication, we are proud to showcase our latest Angry Nerd. Thanks to the ingenuity of our team members and the fantastic support of our mentors, we weathered the worst weather to complete our robot.

Tomorrow, Epsilon Delta, along with 39 other teams, will unleash the fury of FRC for gold and glory.  In addition, the Chairman’s Award Committee will present to a panel of judges and compete for the highest award in all of FIRST.
