This past Monday, the team visited with Armstrong Elementary’s SAC students. We took both this year’s robot and the Angry Nerd from last year.
Both robots were received very well, and the kids had a lot of questions for us! They seemed very interested in robotics and impressed by our presentation. We also shared information about the FLL programs they can join, and generally raised interest in STEM programs.
They had a lot of fun, and we had a great time there!
Today we continued to work on CDR Presentations. We will hold CDR presentations next meeting, this Saturday from 9-4. Team members helping out with the FTC Competition Concession Sales get double hours for that day.
Today the Robotics team divided into subgroups and worked on their part of the FRC robot.
In other news, Herndon High’s FTC group (Team 519) participated in the NOVA competition in Annandale. We started with some technical difficulties, but we overcame them. It was not enough to make it to the top so we focused on learning from this event. It was a great opportunity to make friends, learn strategy, and add to our button collection. With this said and done we are now focusing on the minibot design. The next meeting is on Monday January 24 at 6 p.m. Mr. Koca said we will have a recap and then we are off to work. Get ready!
